Environmental Efforts Win Local Award

Smith System's comprehensive efforts to adopt lean manufacturing techniques and reduce waste of all kinds has resulted in an award from the City of Plano, Texas. We won the 2006 Outstanding Environmental Commitment Award in Plano's Environmental Star of Excellence Award program, says Smith System president, Jim Austin. What makes this award so gratifying is that it confirms the contributions made by our Environmental Stewardship and Waste Reduction Team and the hard work of people throughout our company. The Outstanding Environmental Commitment Award takes into account all Smith System's environmental initiatives outlined in our "Environment" section.
