In an environmental context, our products’ exceptional quality, durability and longevity take on added value. The longer it stays in service, the longer it stays out of landfills. Once Smith System products have reached the end of their usefulness you have a couple options for reducing the environmental impact.

1. Parts of all Smith System products are recyclable. The products can be dissembled and the metal components can be recycled – this is often 50% or more of the product weight. And in the case of our polypropylene chairs, 99% of the chair is recyclable.
2. If the furniture is still serviceable, but no longer meets your school’s needs, we recommend it be donated for use by worthy organizations.
