New Intuit Chair from Smith System Combines Design, Ergonomics, Functionality, Affordability and Sustainability

PLANO, TEXAS (September 17, 2006) – Architects and designers are tasked with finding classroom solutions that provide a welcoming and stimulating educational environment; an environment where safety and practicality meet comfort and design. This merging of form and functionality can present a number of challenges; however, Smith System has discovered a way to unite the two with its new Intuit chair.

The Intuit chair is contemporary and sustainable, as well as ergonomically friendly and affordable.

“Smith System has produced several innovative products for over a century, but no other product has been as well received in previews as the Intuit chair,” says Charlie Risdall, CEO of Smith System. “Its unique combination of contemporary design, functionality and affordability is in demand.”

In order to achieve the look and feel that Smith System wanted, the company engaged London-based furniture designer Russell Plant of bluecube3. Known for his innovation, Plant designed a chair that uses gas injection technology to attain the durability and price point Smith System is known for.

The chair is available in a variety of sizes and configurations for students K-12. It also features:

• Intuitive stacking design that reduces storage space requirements
• Durable construction made with recyclable materials
