Smith System Expands Sales Force to Support Furniture Specification and Design Requirements

Addition of Southeast and Midatlantic regional sales managers provides dealers with new resources

PLANO, TEXAS – (February 24, 2010) – To continue providing furniture solutions for evolving classroom environments, Smith System has expanded its sales force with the addition of two regional sales managers. Supporting two markets, Matt Coyne manages sales in the Southeast, while Ian Nosek supervises sales in the Midatlantic.

Adhering to the belief that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to getting the right furniture solutions into schools, Coyne and Nosek draw from their years of educational sales experience to help dealers and sales representatives support the needs of K-12 and higher education institutions. In addition to sales support, Coyne and Nosek serve as resources to districts and architects by providing furniture solutions for diverse classroom requirements.

“As teaching and learning evolve, there will continue to be a demand for classroom environments that fit schools’ unique education needs,” says Bob Redding, vice president of sales for Smith System. “Matt and Ian’s firsthand knowledge of the furniture specification process on projects of all sizes positions them to provide maximal support to dealers, salespeople and architects, to deliver successful furniture solutions customized to any school’s situation.”

As regional sales manager of the Southeast, Coyne brings a wealth of experience in educational management and sales to Smith System. Coyne began his career in educational sales at American Music, Inc., followed by dealer and manufacturer sales positions at other companies. In the 13 years he has been focused on the education market, Coyne has successfully managed large school projects from design to finished product and a sales force of more than 400 associates. Coyne holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Almeda University in Miami.

Nosek joins Smith System as regional sales manager of the Midatlantic with more than a decade selling school solutions along with a background in education. Before joining Smith System, Nosek gained a wealth of experience working for dealers and manufacturers serving the education industry. In these positions of increasing responsibility, he developed trusted relationships with districts and architects and led several initiatives supporting large-scale new school and district-wide projects.  Nosek holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Ashland University in Ashland, OH.
