Introducing exciting new products and people at the NSSEA School Equipment Show in San Antonio proved successful for Smith System. Attendees at the three-day show clearly embraced products created to support social learning. “Architects really liked the Chat™ Chair,” says Bill Risdall, Vice President of Marketing. Other products that support social learning also garnered a lot of attention. “Our Acrobat™ Crescent Table was very well received, and the I~O™ Post was a big hit, too,” he added.
Architects flocked to Smith System social learning products to fill a need created by a transition in the use common areas. In the future, they will be considered learning spaces – some designs call for hallways 30 ft. wide. Molly Risdall Parnell, National Sales Manager, observes, “Going forward, a hallway isn’t just a hallway, but a shared learning space. Architects and designers are eagerly seeking a source for products that support social learning.”
That need, she explains, was anticipated by Smith System. “The I~O Post provides a near-perfect hub for students collaborating via electronic devices, whether they’re laptops, or iPads. The Chat Chair was a big hit because it’s such a practical alternative to lounge seating – its polypropylene surface is so much more durable and easy to clean than fabric.”
